Heavy wall seamless steel pipe is a type of pipe with higher wall thicknesses than average. The manufacturing process of heavy wall steel seamless pipe can be divided into four basic methods: cold drawn, cold rolled, hot rolled, and hot expansion. According to the purpose, it can be divided into seamless steel pipe for structure; seamless steel pipe for liquid transport; high-pressure seamless steel pipe for boiler; high pressure seamless steel pipe for fertilizer equipment; seamless steel pipe for geological drilling; seamless steel pipe for oil drilling; seamless steel pipe for oil cracking; seamless steel pipe for shipbuilding; various alloy pipes. Seamless steel pipes are indicated by outer diameter and wall thickness.

Production Process

Round tube billet → heating → piercing → three-roll cross rolling, continuous rolling or extrusion → stripping → sizing (or reducing diameter) → cooling → straightening → hydraulic test (or flaw detection) → marking → warehousing.

Application Field

Heavy wall seamless steel pipe are mainly used in water conservancy, petrochemical, chemical, electric power, agricultural irrigation, urban construction and other industries. For liquid transport: water supply and drainage. Gas transportation: natural gas, steam, liquefied petroleum gas. Structural uses: used as bridge piling pipes; docks, roads, buildings and other structures.
