Introduction to the characteristics and uses of 20Cr alloy seamless steel pipe

20Cr alloy seamless steel pipe is one of the alloy structural steel pipes with the largest output in my country and has a wide range of uses. Chinese GB standard steel number 20Cr; Japanese JIS standard steel number SCr22; German DIN standard steel number 20Cr4; British BS standard steel number 590M17; French NF standard steel number 18C3; American AISI/SASTM standard steel number 5120; International Standards Organization ISO standard steel No. 20Cr4.

Characteristics

20Cr alloy steel pipe has relatively good hardenability, medium strength and toughness. The hardenability of oil quenching to half martensitic hardness is Φ20-Φ23mm. After carburizing and quenching surface strengthening treatment, fine needle-like tempered martensite will be obtained on the surface of the mold with a hardness of 58-62HRC; a low-carbon martensite structure will be obtained in the center with a hardness of 35-40HRC. The matrix has high strength and toughness, and can Meet the performance requirements of high hardness, high strength, high toughness and appropriate corrosion resistance of cold work molds. Normalizing can promote the spheroidization of the structure, refine the large proeutectoid ferrite, and improve the cutting performance of the blank.

Usage

20Cr seamless steel pipes are mostly used to manufacture carburized parts (oil quenching) with high core strength requirements, surface wear, cross-sections below 30mm, or complex shapes and low loads, such as: machine tool gearbox gears, gear shafts, Cams, worms, piston pins, claw clutches, etc.; for parts with small heat treatment deformation and high wear resistance, high-frequency surface quenching should be performed after carburization, such as gears, shafts. 20Cr seamless pipes can also be used in the quenched and tempered state to manufacture parts that work at high speeds and withstand moderate impact loads. It can also be used as low carbon martensitic quenching steel to further increase the yield strength and tensile strength of the steel.
